Block Ice Bags, Built for Solid Ice
Block ice packaging requires a fundamentally different bag design than standard bag ice. Solid blocks are heavier per unit, have sharp corners, and need gusseted construction to accommodate their rectangular shape. Friesen Plastics manufactures heavy-gauge gusseted bags specifically engineered for block ice applications.
Our primary block ice account is, for whom we produce gusseted bags in a 6" × 4"SG × 22" format at 2.25 mil thickness. The side-gusseted construction allows the bag to expand around the block while maintaining a compact footprint for freezer merchandiser display. The heavier gauge prevents corner punctures that would cause melting product to leak.
