Flat Bottom Pouches

Box-style flexible pouches with fully sealed flat rectangular bottoms, maximum shelf stability, five-panel branding area, and a premium retail aesthetic for coffee, pet food, snacks, and specialty food.

The Premium Retail Pouch Format

Flat bottom pouches, also called box pouches or block bottom pouches, have become the preferred format for premium retail food and beverage products. Unlike stand-up pouches with their curved or angled gussets, the flat bottom pouch has a fully sealed rectangular bottom that creates a true box-like shape when filled. This results in the most stable shelf footprint available in flexible packaging and gives the pouch a rigid-container appearance at flexible-packaging weight and cost.

The five-panel structure of a flat bottom pouch, front, back, two side gussets, and the bottom, provides significantly more printable surface than a comparable stand-up pouch. This makes the format especially popular for brands seeking maximum shelf impact and full-coverage label design without the cost and environmental footprint of rigid packaging.

Features & Options

5 Printable Panels

Front, back, two side gussets, and bottom panel are all available for print. Full coverage branding is possible across all five surfaces, giving brands far more real estate than a standard stand-up pouch. Photo-quality flexographic printing throughout.

Resealable Zipper Closures

Press-to-close zippers at the top allow consumers to reseal after opening. Compatible with both box pouch and quad seal formats. Helps extend freshness for products used incrementally such as coffee, pet food, and nuts.

Clear Windows

Transparent panels incorporated into the front or side panels allow product visibility. Particularly effective for premium food products where the product itself communicates quality, whole bean coffee, dried fruit, specialty nuts.

Matte & Gloss Finishes

Matte laminate gives a tactile appearance with a soft-touch feel, favoured by specialty food and premium CPG brands. Gloss finishes provide sharp colour vibrancy for high-impact shelf appeal.

Tear Notches & Easy Open

Side-seal tear notches for controlled easy-open. Can be positioned above the zipper for initial access. Laser scoring available for straight, clean tear lines without notches.

Hang Holes

Euro-slot hang holes die-cut into the top seal for peg display compatibility. Allows the same pouch to serve both shelf-standing and hanging display configurations.
